Summer time is calling me
The summer begins and by now you have the basic down and a few turns... You know the belly roll and working on your pivot.......You got the top forty on and you are working out the steps to the beat... Please click on the newsletter to find where you can go to enjoy showing off your footwork.. One of the best things about shagging. Whereever there are shaggers, there are partners..... So call a friend, pack your chair and hit some of the venues being held this summer. I am sure I will be there.
Classes still being held at City Meeting Place . 211 Hughes St. Elizabeth City NC. Wednesday nights at 7:00pm....cover charge is 2.00 dollars.
Start the New Year , Shagging ....
Beginner and Intermediate classes are held every Wednesday night starting at 7:00pm with a DeeJay following with shag music. You are invited to attend either class and even better yet, dance at both... The more floor time you get, the smoother your look... And best of all, the fellowship with dancers is a treat. If you haven't started , don't let that keep you from showing up... There are always members at each dance to help you individually

A SHAGGER’S PRAYER
Lord, shoot the gun and raise theflag. At long, long last I’ve learned to shag.
The Basic, I can do with ease, The Boogie Walk with bended knees,
The Pivot I now do very well, Though learning it was holy hell.
As well as any, I Belly Roll, And better than most, I’m often told,

And as for presence….man, I’m mean.
Flybacks and Drop-spins I take in stride,
Non-shaggers now I can’t abide.
