Down by the Sound
Hey everybody. Have we been having a great time or what? Mary and Marty Littman have been going to each and every workshop to learn new steps with instructors from South Carolina to our home state. And we are very fortunate that they are willing to share their time and talent with us. Just in the past three weeks, we have learned the fancy startup, the flip, the geechee, the back walk and the incredible arch. And all of these moves are leadable. I have realized my knees aren't what they used to be.... So to get the courage to say I think I can, I am enjoying the special of the night at the Pines of only two dollars, a sweet evening sunset drink .. Its what some members call a sipping drink. What can I tell you, but the menu is awesome and affordable. The dance floor is smooth. The company can't be any better. Our club is thriving and members, please don't get too busy this summer as not to support us on Wednesday night.. We need all of our members.
And by the way, a newsflash, we are now offering warmup beginner classes for 15 to 20 minutes before each intermediate class.So newbies come out and join us. We practice the basics and get our (my) knees working . And then along with the courage drink, I am learning to become a practiced intermediate dancer.

We Have Moved and Ready to Dance
New Location for River City Shag Club
the next three months. Wednesdays will be intermediate lessons and sharing of steps from 7 - 8 p.m. with open dancing 8 – 9:30 p.m. A cover charge of $3.00 will be collected at the door.
A six weeks new beginner’s class will start after Labor Day.
Our monthly socials will be the 2nd Fridays of June, July and August.
For July and August a cover of
charge of $6.00 for any shag club member showing their clubs’
membership card and $8.00 for non-members will be collected at
the door. Buffet will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Dancing until 12:00 midnight.
Ordering from The Pines’ menu will be available on Wednesdays.
A buffet will be available on social nights. If you are planning
to eat on a social night, please sign up on Wednesday nights or
email Joan Moore at jmoore1022@yahoo.com. The Pines will
need at least 30 people to eat in order to continue with a buffet.
We have scheduled our Christmas Social for December 18th
at The Pines.

Hi everyone.
Boogie on the Bay is hosting a Cheese Burger N Paradise Shag Workshop, Dinner and Dance on Saturday June 27th . Workshop starts at 1:00pm til 5:30 with instructors Jim Sterner and Donna Rosen from NMB. Both have won several Shag contests and known for their grace, poise and articulate footwork. It is being held at Eagles Club, Chesapeake.
It will follow with Dinner from 5:30 til 7:30 and then a dance 7:30 from 11:30. Tickets for the entire event is only 25 dollars for nonmembers of BOTB and 20 dollars for members of BOTB.
